We were blessed to have the opportunity to welcome Elder Velasco and Elder Chytraus into our home for a meal not once, but twice! The first night, we fed them some kickin' chicken quesadillas (lots of them), chips and salsa, and green salad. Elder Chytraus said that quesadillas are his favorite food, so I guess I must've been led to make those that night. A week later, we fed the missionaries and I catered to Elder Velasco's tastebuds this time. We went to paradise- Hawaiian food! There was Kalua Pig, Shoyu Chicken, rice, mac salad, and steamed broccoli. He was happy. And so was I...YUM! :)
After the meal, Steve took some time to teach them how to tie their ties in a "cool" fashion. I believe he showed them the trinity knot and ellie knot.

Youtube helped Steve remember. |
After the second time we fed them, we found out they were off to a nearby meetinghouse to sing for a girls camp kickoff. I talked them into performing for us and it was great. The song was written by Elder Velasco one night after he had been asked to perform with his ukelele for the kickoff. See the smilebox video below for the elder's performance in our living room.
