Christensen Reunion Day 5- Horsin' Around

The cabin we stayed at had a fun game room with a pool table, a ping pong table, dart board, and a step down into a hydrotherapy spa room.  There was hardly a time you would walk by the game room and not see someone playing pool or ping pong.

By late morning, we were off to the town of Alton for a round of horseback riding.  You may recall that we did that last year when we were in Alton.  We had so much fun last time that we requested to do it again this time around.  Kids played at the nearby park while they waited their turn on the horses.

Horseback riding was fun.  Lily was a big fan and wanted to go again and again, but she patiently (and sometimes not-so-patiently) kept having to wait her turn.  She wants a horse.  She's wanted one for a long long time.  So, I'm glad she could get a chance to ride one again this summer.

Lily's crutches were another nice toy to play with while waiting a turn with the horse.

Amara also loves horses, and this year, she assured me that she could ride alone.  After seeing her ride the zipline alone and seeing how well she held on tight when being "caught-" which was more like a whiplash fling (thank goodness or she would've flown right off)- I had every confidence that as long as she held on tight to the saddle, she'd be fine all alone.

The girls are awaiting another turn.

Smile Lily!

Amara and her cousin, Matthew, had a blast doing their own sort of horse racing at the park.

Steve and I saw a deer on our way back to the cabin to prepare lunch.
 For lunch we made:
  • Sweet and Sour Meatballs
  • Rice
  • Watermelon
  • leftover Pineapple
  • Garden salad, sliced mushrooms on the side, Ranch
  • Cucumber-tomato salad
  • Limes for water

The meatballs and rice were a hit.  Not one morsel was left after the crew went through.
And with our bellies full, may I ask who wants another ride on the zipline?

Uncle Tron was the last zip-rider of the trip.
My girls wanted a picture with their twin cousins, Emma and Audrey.

That looks like so much fun! Your girls talked about the horses and the zip line the whole time they were staying with us. :)
