Our February and March Date

Our February Date

Steve's turn to plan our monthly anniversary date!  He took me out to eat at High Country Pizza where we enjoyed personal pizzas.  There was a huge takeout order they were working on when we got there, so it took longer than usual to get our food. But we waited and chatted and I sat right close to Steve and snuggled in to stay warm.

They recently got a dessert case there and this fudge chocolate cake looked so good.  We split a slice, but honestly, one bite was good enough for me.  Not sure why but that cake was pretty but not tasty.  It was so dry.  Strange.  And the chocolate flavor was that weak quality akin to Hershey's syrup.  I would've rather had a Little Debby cosmic brownie.

After our dinner, Steve drove me to the Montes Creek turn off where we parked facing the sunset and he read a few pages of the book we're reading together by Beth Brower called The Unselected Journals of Emma M. Lion.  We've enjoyed reading that book.  It has a humor to it that we both enjoy.

Our March Date

My turn to plan!  I could not land on a plan to save the life of me!  I knew I didn't want to go out to eat, and I wanted to just enjoy the leftovers we had at home from Steve's birthday the day before.  But I wanted to do an activity we hadn't done yet.  It came to me as I was warming up the pizza for our dinner and Steve asked what our date was going to be.  STARGAZING! When it gets dark.  Sounded good to him.  We were both tired from work and could use a few hours to just melt into the sofa.

A few hours later it got dark and I went outside to look for the best spot to set up some portable foam mattresses.  The sky was clouds.  Everywhere.  And the moon was full, so that's not ideal for stargazing.  Huh.  OH WELL!  PLAN B!  I went in the house and told Steve plans were changing and we were going to have a spa night.  I filled up the garden tub, brought in a lamp, lit a candle, and put on some quiet relaxing yoga music.  I looked for bubble bath or bath bombs or anything of that nature and found nothing.  Honestly, though, with the ambiance I created with the soft lamp light reflecting on the water, you didn't need it.  It was the perfect set up for a warm soak and foot rubs.  Why don't we do that more often?
