Happy 22nd Anniversary! Midway/ Heber Valley

We brought a cheese and fruit tart home for Amara.  They sold these at the Zermatt bakery.

Sooo.. This keeps happening.  When I upload pictures, it goes in the opposite order. And I'm not willing to go back and change it all.  So, enjoy these pics from our anniversary vacay to Midway/Heber Valley.

We ate at a highly popular place, which looked all kinds of fun with it's outdoor globes you could sit in, however, the sun was out and those globes looked like saunas, so we opted for inside.  It was a bit cramped in there, and the food was okay, but pricy. Not a good combo for frugalista Lani.

My pizza had pine nuts and mushrooms and rosemary.  The tomato sauce really competed with the flavors.

This salad was bomb.  Loved every bite! It had pears, gorgonzola, sweet walnuts, and a creamy vinaigrette.

Mini golf came with our stay at the Zermatt resort, so we took advantage.  It's a lovely course and I would go there just to play it again.  The views are serene and the course is little and fun.

All the trees were in bloom!

We also rode their carousel which runs on the hour.  Adults have to stand or sit on the bench, which we did. The animals are reserved for children.
Another restaurant with high acclaim was a cafe that made their own bread in house.  Our sandwich with tri tip and pesto was good, nice flavor combo.  The fries were surprisingly bland as was the fry sauce.  They looked beautiful and they even looked seasoned but they lacked flavor.  The sandwich was really greasy.

The land out there is absolutely gorgeous!

We took an evening trip to Jordanelle Reservoir and found a place along the beach to sit and paint.  It was Lily's suggestion the week before that we paint each other.  So, we did.  That was so fun!

Earlier on Saturday we went to the Wasatch Wunder disc golfing course.  It was right up the street and what we played was awesome. I loved the trees.  We did have to pay $10 to park. And, we only got to hole 5 before I had to call it quits because I wasn't feeling well.  I was still trying to get better from my cold.

Spring has sprung and the blooms were blooming!

Our first stop was at a restaurant called Little India.  We drive by it all the time, but I'm glad we decided to go there.  That food was the best food of the whole trip!

I guess I never got a pic of the Zermatt Resort we stayed at.  The stay was comfortable, but lacked a fridge and microwave in our room.  They had cable TV but no way to cast our devices to it.  The price was right for us though.  Again, we love to have a good time that's not inhibited by the depressing mile high prices these days.  Although we didn't use the pool, it looked really nice with warm water (I tested it with my hand).

That was some of our anniversary, but the highlight was honestly just spending time together and talking and connecting.  I sure love us!
