Parker Blessing Day

Earlier this month, our nephew, Parker, was blessed. He had the most adorable suit on and he is precious beyond words. We were so glad that we were able to attend.

Fending Off Pinches

Get green! We had fun getting green today. Amara and Lily made green signs and jewelry with green paper, and later we ate with Micah's family a lunch of green eggs, green waffles, and kiwi. Delicious!

That night we had a pizza party with Joe's family. What fun times! I am proud to report we are closing the day having avoided the pinching leprkonds (as Amara spells it).

Potty Joking in the Backseat

Our daughters are at an age where they really get a kick out of hearing and saying potty jokes.  As parents we try to discourage it, but when they're in the backseat whispering and laughing uncontrollably, it's pretty easy to know what jokes they're telling to eachother, that and when they whisper it's loud enough for the whole car to hear anyway.

When traveling a week ago, the girls were engaged in a rousing whispering and giggling session.  Since giggling is much preferred to fighting, Steve and I pretended not to hear them whisper, "poop" to eachother and then crack up.  Then the girls came up with a plan.  They were going to try to make mom and dad say a potty word because how much more funny would that be?

Lily: Um, mom and dad?  What rhymes with scoop?

Dad: Droop..., sloop..., coop..., loop..., snoop...

Amara (whispering to Lily): He didn't say poop.

Lily and Amara giggle.

Lily: What rhymes with tee?

Dad: glee..., knee..., flea..., me..., tree..., key..., bee...

Lily: hmmm....  What rhymes with art?

Dad: part..., cart..., bart..., chart..., smart...

Amara (whispering to Lily): He's not saying it.

Lily: Okay, what rhymes with, uh, spliarrhea?

Dad and Mom: uh... uh...

Then the whole car was laughing.

The Mouse, A Poem By Lily

The Mouse
by: Lily

There is a mouse that lives in my house.
He likes bread and milk and he's made out of silk.
He plays basketball and he is really tall.
Poems rhyme, oh look there's some slime!

Silly Girls

These are a few of the moments caught on camera of my little ones playing around. Can you spot their homemade unicorn horns? How about the airhead candy tongue or the super sized pirate boots?

Goodbye 20s

Last month was my birthday. In a very concise nutshell... Steve had made me breakfast, the girls decorated the living room, family and friends messaged me all day with birthday wishes, we went out to eat and I got new music and a journal. It was a great 30th birthday.

Ringing in 2012 With Pinkies Up!

I know it's late and I'm way behind on blogging, but I didn't want to forget about our fun family New Year's Eve Tea Party!  For Christmas the girls got a gorgeous tea set and it only seemed proper to use it for a party.  My mom came over and joined us.  We brought in the new year early.  We had our herbal peppermint tea and a few other goodies, then we watched the fireworks from Sydney, Austrailia via YouTube.  The Austrailians definitely got the U.S. beat in celebratory fireworks for the new year.  We also danced to the music and toasted the new year.
