Easter

A few photos from Easter... I'll have to post the video later. Lily left a note in her basket saying "please hide basket hard." I guess last year it was just set next to the couch... much too easy. This year both girls needed help finding their baskets that were hidden in cabinets.

Amara drew a picture of the Easter bunny I thought was so cute.

The girls loved how I did their hair for church, so of course we just had to take a picture of that.

We all had fun the day after for family night as we dyed eggs. They had such cute faces in the kit we bought. I love how they turned out!

After-Conference Carwash n Picnic

After conference on Saturday, we went to grandma's place to wash our car and have a picnic. The girls had fun spraying the car and even more fun hearing their grandma scream as the cold, hard stream would "accidentally" douse her backside. Everyone was chilled enough after the carwash that our picnic of egg salad sandwiches got moved indoors. Thanks gramma for a good time.

Get Better Mom

It's what I'm trying to do- get well again. It's been 2+ months now since the onset of my illness. My symptoms all come and go throughout the day and night, some days worse than others. From dizziness, weakness, feeling faint, nausea, headaches, neck aches, numbness in various parts of my body, throat tightness, tingling,, sore heels (weird), and more recently stomach and chest issues...
I've undergone testing of all sorts now, all of which were normal, except one that revealed a syndrome I think I've had for awhile called postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome. And I still don't have the report back from the cardiologist. That's my next line of attack- visit a cardiologist.
I've been blessed and supported through this, though. I truly believe in the power of prayer and it has helped me get through the hard times.
Lily and Amara have decorated my bedside with get well pictures, Amara has brought me food when I was really feeling awful, neighbors have called to offer help and bring us meals, and my husband spent his spring break chauffeuring me to tests and doctor visits. I'm so thankful for everyone's prayers for me. They are helping. Hopefully I'll get back to normal soon.

Parker Blessing Day

Earlier this month, our nephew, Parker, was blessed. He had the most adorable suit on and he is precious beyond words. We were so glad that we were able to attend.

Fending Off Pinches

Get green! We had fun getting green today. Amara and Lily made green signs and jewelry with green paper, and later we ate with Micah's family a lunch of green eggs, green waffles, and kiwi. Delicious!

That night we had a pizza party with Joe's family. What fun times! I am proud to report we are closing the day having avoided the pinching leprkonds (as Amara spells it).

Potty Joking in the Backseat

Our daughters are at an age where they really get a kick out of hearing and saying potty jokes.  As parents we try to discourage it, but when they're in the backseat whispering and laughing uncontrollably, it's pretty easy to know what jokes they're telling to eachother, that and when they whisper it's loud enough for the whole car to hear anyway.

When traveling a week ago, the girls were engaged in a rousing whispering and giggling session.  Since giggling is much preferred to fighting, Steve and I pretended not to hear them whisper, "poop" to eachother and then crack up.  Then the girls came up with a plan.  They were going to try to make mom and dad say a potty word because how much more funny would that be?

Lily: Um, mom and dad?  What rhymes with scoop?

Dad: Droop..., sloop..., coop..., loop..., snoop...

Amara (whispering to Lily): He didn't say poop.

Lily and Amara giggle.

Lily: What rhymes with tee?

Dad: glee..., knee..., flea..., me..., tree..., key..., bee...

Lily: hmmm....  What rhymes with art?

Dad: part..., cart..., bart..., chart..., smart...

Amara (whispering to Lily): He's not saying it.

Lily: Okay, what rhymes with, uh, spliarrhea?

Dad and Mom: uh... uh...

Then the whole car was laughing.

The Mouse, A Poem By Lily

The Mouse
by: Lily

There is a mouse that lives in my house.
He likes bread and milk and he's made out of silk.
He plays basketball and he is really tall.
Poems rhyme, oh look there's some slime!
